Honors, Awards, and Other Recognition
In December 2007 Karen Carson was profiled in an article in "Greater Knoxville Homes & Living."
In May of 2007 Karen Carson was awarded the Outstanding Tennessee School Board Representative by the Tennessee PTA.
In April of 2007 Karen Carson
also received the Outstanding Local Elected Official award which was presented
by the Knox County Council PTA.
In September of 2007 Karen was elected to serve as the East TN Region Director on the Federal Relations Network by the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA)
Karen currently is serving her second term on the Tennessee
Legislative Network Board of Directors for the TSBA.
In 2006 Karen was elected by her peers to serve
as Board Chairperson of the Knox County Board of Education. She was
re-elected to that position in 2007.
Karen
has achieved Level 3 Boardsmanship award from the TSBA.
